Social Campaign Motion Project

Originality is Irreplaceable

Introduction:
Inspiration from Electrostatics

This project began with the central keyword: Electrostatics. This concept inspired the three core elements of the project —space, character, and direction— each of which contributes to the overarching theme: the irreplaceability of originality in a world of mechanical replication and AI reproduction.

Concept & Messages

Electrostatics becomes a metaphor for contrast: 2D vs 3D, stillness vs motion, AI vs human.

The narrative structure follows the five stages of a photocopier’s operation, each symbolizing the tension between replication and originality.

A copying failure at the climax reinforces the idea that originality cannot be reproduced by machines.

Character Design

The protagonist, Nana, is visually characterized by her spiky hair— resembling strands charged with static electricity.

She stands as a symbol of originality.
Inspired by the iconic and timeless manga Nana, her punk aesthetic and bold individuality represent creative resilience.

Nana is the kind of figure who maintains her unique essence even amid the disorienting chaos of an AI-driven world. Her presence alone communicates the strength and irreplaceability of true originality.

Space

The setting of the project is a photocopier, a machine that operates using the principles of electrostatics. As a space, the photocopier symbolizes an environment where mechanical reproduction occurs—not true creation. This setting serves as a powerful metaphor for a society that increasingly values replication over authenticity, making it the ideal backdrop for our message.

Visual Direction

The copying process is visualized as a series of transitions:

  • Charging: A still, 2D-like world of purity.

  • Exposing: A forced entry into a chaotic 3D space.

  • Developing: Overwhelming glitch and distortion in a cyberpunk city.

  • Transfer & Fusing: System error and collapse.

  • Output: Nana returns unchanged—proof of irreplaceable originality.

Through intense glitch effects, fisheye distortion, and neon-lit cityscapes, the film highlights the emotional unease of the AI era.

The final scene restores stillness and purity—Nana on a blank canvas, unchanged, serene, and eternal.
